Soft Boiled Eggs

A perfectly cooked soft-boiled egg with a creamy yolk.

Ingredients

  • 1 –2 large eggs
  • Water
  • Ice optional, for easier peeling

Instructions

  • Bring a small pot of water to a gentle boil.
  • Carefully lower the egg into the boiling water.
  • Cook for 6–8 minutes, depending on your preferred yolk consistency.
  • Remove the egg and place it in ice water for 2–3 minutes to stop the cooking.
  • Peel carefully and serve warm.

Notes

Cook for 6–8 minutes, depending on your preferred yolk consistency:
  • 6 minutes: runny
  • 7 minutes: jammy
  • 8 minutes: soft-set
